My husband and I gave birth to a baby boy, Dallas, in 2010. Our son lived out his 29 days here on Earth, in the NICU. He was born premature and developed a hole in his intestine. He was too small for surgery and he went to live with Jesus. We were by his side the entire time. Our son’s short life here taught us to value every second. To love hard because you never know how long you have. To give to others and be a good disciple of Christ’s work here on Earth.
We tried for 7 years to conceive again and in that time succeeded twice, miscarried both times. It’s been a very emotional road for us. We’ve really just given our lives over to helping others. We have done Meals on Wheels, Random Acts of Kindness wherever we go, and collecting clothing to help different people and organizations.
Over the years God has put different people in our path that pointed us into the direction of adoption. I think, mentally / emotionally, we weren’t ready.
It has really been put on our hearts to adopt a special needs child of our own. My husband was born with Crouzons Syndrome, which is a craniofacial condition. He understands what it’s like to grow up looking or being different. He is very compassionate and the both us have so much love to give a little one.
We are currently fundraising to cover the adoption and legal fees and potential travel expenses. We understand the fundraising is early since we just started the process, we just wanted to let everyone know and keep them informed. We understand that it takes time and fundraising will be more important further down the road.
Follow along our journey as we begin heading down this road. Feel free to share our GoFundMe link, or just pray for us!
Have a blessed day.
